Corralejo is the main surfing town of Fuerteventura North, even though Lajares is more central and closer to all the main surf spots, Corralejo is where most of the tourists stay. The town, located in the northeast of the island, is a seaside resort with a soul. You might get frightened by the main entrance of the town, an ode to mass tourism and the entertainment industry. However, there is more to Corralejo than this first impression. As you reach the center of the town and its white sandy beaches, you will start to fall in love. It is a melting pot of people from all over the world and you can feel the island vibe in the air. Even if there is not much left of the old town, there is so much to like about Corralejo, Fuerteventura. Going to the beach

Corralejo is home to beautiful beaches right by the city center, it makes it possible to head for a dip at any time of the day as the beaches are protected from the waves by the Corralejo Harbor. Surf or Kite Corralejo

If Corralejo used to be a small fishing village, the development of surfing in the past 20 years has turned it into of the epicenter of surfing in Fuerteventura. There are a couple of surf spots in Corralejo that are accessible on foot. The most emblematic one, for surfers of all levels, is the surf spot of Punta Elena (Rocky Point) at the southern end of Corralejo. Walk To the Corralejo Dunes and its natural beaches

The Corralejo Dunes are more of a full-scale desert than just your regular dunes. It is a mini Sahara Desert that naturally occurred just a 30 minute hike away from Corralejocenter. It is really a must see in Corralejo, take the afternoon and walk there or take the bus, enjoy the nature, chill at the wild beaches, and stay until the sunset to make ever lasting memories.

Enjoy a night out: Best bars Corralejo

What are the best place to go out Corralejo? There are so many options for a night out in Corralejo; let us walk you through what our typical night out in Corralejo looks like. First of all, we would begin the evening with a sunset cocktail at the sunset lounge bar Corralejo or at Punta Elena beach bar, feet in the sand with a beautiful view on the islet of Lobos. Then we would move on to Babel or Cheerz which we think are some of the best bars Corralejo. We cannot recommend enough the cocktails from Babel, possibly the best cocktails Corralejo. At around 11.30 pm you can either grab a Corralejo taxi and head to the Banana Beach Club (4 euros taxi), it is one of the best places to go out in Corralejo, huge space with a sand terrace and good party atmosphere. The other option to go out in Corralejo is to head to the Kiwi Bar and La Chupeteria, if the setting isn’t very inviting you are sure to find cheap and heavy cocktails, 1-euro shots and all the drunken people of the city. All in all, Corralejo has good nightlife, it is easy to meet people and cheap to get drunk.

Eat traditional Canarian food Corralejo

Restaurants in Corralejo are definitely one the main attractions, there is a bit for everyone, from traditional Canarian cuisine to all you can eat Chinese food or one of the many delicious, Italian-owned, pizzeria. But we really recommend not to miss out on the best tapas restaurants Corralejo. Go for a trip on Lobos Island

The islet of Lobos is a 15 minutes boat ride from Corralejo and is an absolute must see! It’s good to spend at least half a day there to hike around, sunbath at the beautiful playa de la Concha Lobos, visit the village of El Puertito and grab a bite in one the nicest location in the Canary Islands. Climb up a Volcano

One of the best place to enjoy a sunrise or a sunset in Corralejo is the volcano Bayuyo overlooking Corralejo. From the top of this volcano, you will have the best view of Corralejo, Lajares, the Corralejo Dunes and the chain of volcanos that lead all the way to Lajares. From the bottom of the volcano it is just a 20 minutes hike to the top. However, if you are leaving on foot from the center of Corralejo, it will take you 1h to reach the top.

Corralejo Market

To finish this extensive list of things to do in Corralejo, going to one of the Corralejo markets is a great option for discovering the artisans of Fuerteventura. The best Corralejo market takes place in the Campanario shopping Center every Thursday and Sunday from 9am to 2pm. It is a craft market selling goods from all over the island.

There is also the Art walks market, which is a bohemian art market, it takes place on Friday on Churruca Street and on Saturday near the Corralejo Church from 4 to 10pm.
